The many concerts held in Washington D.C. commemorating President Barack Obama’s inauguration reads like a “who’s who” of music’s biggest names. Singers Beyonce Knowles, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige all performed at the inauguration festivities that kicked off this past weekend.

Knowles gave a heartfelt performance of ‘America the Beautiful’ at the ‘We Are One’ celebration bringing the crowd to its feet. “America we are one!” She said at the song’s end. Knowles is also set to sing ‘At Last’ for the President and first lady during their inauguration ball Tuesday night.

The star was one of many who offered to perform at the inauguration ceremony shortly after President Obama’s win. “I’m there. I can’t wait,” she said in an interview last November. “Whatever they want, if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I’m there, and I’m ready.”

Her better half, Jay-Z took to the stage alongside Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy performing the remix of Jeezy’s song ‘My President’ at a D.C. club. “My president is black, he’s black, he’s half white…so even in a racist mind, he’s half right. So if you got a racist mind, it’s alright. My president is black, but his house is all white,” Jay spit during his a capella freestyle verse.

Rapper Bow Wow hit the news circuit with an interview with CNN. The rapper talked about the importance of the historic election and how it and the recession peaked his interest in politics. He also participated in the Disney’s “Kids Inaugural” celebration, which featured singers Rihanna and Usher.
